| The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay The glory that was Rome is of another day I've been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan I'm going home to my city by the Bay
I left my heart in San Francisco High on a hill, it calls to me To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care
My love waits there in San Francisco Above the blue and windy sea When I come home to you, San Francisco Your golden sun will shine for me

| Im sure most of you have heard Imagine by John Lennon.
Imagine John Lennon And The Plastic Ono Band
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world...
And I came across a poem someone had written in responds to the song... I am not sharing it with you guys because it is a wonderfully written poem, but rather on the magnitude of emotions the poem had on me and the astonishing amount of parallels I can draw from my own personal feelings are just incredible. And maybe some of you guys would feel the same way.
Dearest Mr. Lennon, You don't really know me because you died three years before my birth.
But I just wanted to tell you that I heard your song the other day and it made me think about simpler times when I was a kid.
When the idea of heaven and hell was beyond my grasp and countries, war and religion were just words I read about in school.
Now that I'm older and I hear your song it seems so perfect, so fitting for these times in which we live.
You were a dreamer-- maybe the best of them-- and I know now that you were right. In your song, you said you weren't the only one, and I couldn't agree more.
I can only imagine the world you wanted to see before the lights went out for you on that cold December night.
So I'll accept your invitation in joining you, the "we," the rest of "us."
Until then, Mr. Lennon, I'll keep dreaming. And maybe, some day, we will see the world you wanted to see.
And thank you andrew for posting that article on facebook.
